So nice! I loved the cosy homey mismatched antique-y decor and on top of that the food is delicious. Stu had the mos amazing dumplings and we shared a super rich moist brownie. Mm. Plus the delicious hot spiced apple drink. Must return soon.

empig & stupig are to wedpig <3

I've not posted much lately, partially due to extreme engagement excitement. All I'm really thinking is wedding right now....so my posts will be a bit wedding themed for a bit.
It's going to be in autumn amidst fallen leaves! :D Reception is in a pub with a hog roast, and as you see from my little mood board, primary colours and jamjars galore!
I'm very much looking forward to decorating the pub and making all these bit and pieces. It's going to involve a lot of paper, cutting, folding and ribbon!
I'm also making my own dress but I guess I won't put any pictures up of that in case Stu looks :)

New home - decorated by shadow and books!

I made these shadow lamps about 3 years ago, and they have never given so good an effect as they do in out new little flat. Mr Emmie and I have just moved, cramming ourselves into a little studio...so far it seems fine, nice and cosy :) and I'm thrilled with the beautiful shadows. I almost don't wnt to hang my Babar picture...

Summer Fair
I popped in here on my way home from Sheffield to have a quick look...too tired to look properly but here are my highlights:

Central Saint Martins Degree Show
First some Textile Futures.....
Jo Angell's Solar Sanctuary. Shades to encourage people out of the sun with layers that shine through in the light.

Amelie Labarthe's Home Creature Comfort, interior pieces that encourage warmth and affection. Very cute :)

And then others...
Christina Chong's lamps made from shredded paper...recycling and a textured shadow. I really want to play with paper now!
Yunju Lee's fun jewellery of ink spots, ketchup stains and iron burns. Her website doesn't do her work justice but I guess it isn't finished yet.
Hiroka Nakano's Personal Landmark project...cutting sections out of photos and looking through the space. I believe it is to do with how we see landmarks and what they mean to different people. There's a proper explanation on the website though.

Jean Nouvel

I LOVE this! I wish I had done it...beautiful translucent lit up kitchen storage sillhouetting the contents :D lovely lovely lovely. It is by Jean Nouvel for the Corian Nouvel Lumières project. Now i'm looking at this Corian, it's so nice! Some kind of acrylic mix with minerals or something...with lovely translucency. I need to get hold of some...
FAT

Ahh! I've discovered who is behing the lovely design of Peyton and Byrne (beautiful delicious bakery I've mentioned before) and Meals at Heals :) It is FAT, a London based architecture/interiors group. They've done much lovely stuff :) Including the KKoutlet, some sort off bookshop/art gallery I really want to go to.
