Wanderings in West London

While researching organic linen I came across a couple of London shops that sell it. I knew they wouldn't be selling metres of it as I need but they looked like lovely shops I decided to visit anyway :) Summerill & Bishop and Daylesford Organic...pictures and thoughts below!

Summerill & Bishop

Delicious assortment of vintage kitchenware and new simple, unusual designs. The shop feels so home-y even though its an expensive boutique-y place :) I like.

Daylesford Organic

Lovely simple seductive packaging. Too expensive for me but mmm. I love how thin the heart shaped box of chocolates is.

Cath Kidston

Unplanned, I spotted a Cath Kidston shop and as I've never been in one I popped in for a look...too girly pink and floral for my taste but I quite like this elephant print :) and I did get myself a nice bright blue doorstop.

Flickr - Kaos2

Have just had a little browse on Flickr and saw these beautiful close up photos of reflections, marbles and water. :D http://www.flickr.com/photos/barbeezgarten/

shadows to blinds...

Now I'm making linen blinds with shadow casters attached behind. Trying to sort out the sustainability of linen...so far I think it's pretty good...apart from the bleaching...but I want it white! Thinking thinking.

mmm chairs with stuffed animals. indoors mixed with outdoors. comfort mixed with the discomfort of death. delicious contrast.

Peachy

I saw this lamp a while ago but never mentioned it...it's simple but clever and sweetly stylish :) it's a plain blue lamp with stripes for sea levels in day and when it is switched on but when you switch it off phosphorecent sea creatures glow in the dark as a night light for children :)

Yu Jordy Fu

Recycled paper lasercut lampshades. Sort of like something I might have done which makes me feel a little unoriginal! :) my stuff is more surreal and illustrative and less 3 dimensional but really similar...lets hope this inspires me to innovate :)

Amy Kligman

Amy Kligman does these beautiful paintings. I love the simplicity and child like dreaminess :) And they kind of remind me of my Gran's drawings.
